Growing up in the coal fields of Southwest Virginia during the late 40’s and early 50’s, I always liked to draw. Unfortunately, art was not offered in any of the public schools. As a result, my paintings are primitive in the greatest form; no training whatsoever. I paint what I see from magazines, photographs, and TV. That people seem to enjoy my efforts has always been a puzzle to me; I am my own worst critic.
